What’s Happening in our Strange House...

Our new single, Hard Times in NYC is now available on all major streaming services, including Apple, Spotify, Audius and loads more. The song is something of a sarcastic dig at the post-pandemic flailing’s of the city that once never slept. Their are several quotes, both lyrically and musically, from far more famous NYC anthems, and a shout out to the dubious contributions of Mayor Bill. Take a listen:

Our latest and greatest album, Big Fucking Lie, is now available through all major streaming services, including Apple Music and Spotify. Our most ambitious project to date, this 20 song collection was largely written, recorded, and mixed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Unsurprisingly, it is very much influenced by that ongoing and unprecedented event. You can stream or buy it. Click on the album to stream or buy it on iTunes:

Our latest song, “No Time Left Anymore.” Ironically, it is also the last song recorded with our original drummer, Scott Joseph, aka “Gern.” If you listen carefully, you might catch a glimpse of the notoriously shy Gern’s only backing vocal performance during the chorus. Sadly, Gern’s GPS got busted, and he is reportedly lost somewhere on Shady Knutts Farm. On a happier note, tonight we are welcoming a new drummer to our strange house, Mr. Ray Ethan, Esq. Thus one era ends and just as another begins. Lots of great new material will be coming your way soon. We hope that you will listen, enjoy, and share. (Click the image to play)

Our latest release, “Leave me Now”, is available on Soundcloud. From K. Brubes, It’s a somewhat angry renunciation of the tyranny of the past. As the song puts it: “I had enough of being sucked in by the past, the giant swirling sound of everything you’ve ever known being drowned, but still hanging around.” Please share! The hits keep coming fast and furious. Here’s a new song, “Some Things Come Too Soon,” that’s about the suddenness of loss and the ensuing sorrow. The lyric is by K. Brubes, sitting unsung for almost a dozen years, but the song was improvised by the band off a bass riff by Tony that blossomed into what you hear here. (Click Image to Play)

Another new song from Strange Houses. This one a composition by our drummer, Scott Joseph, entitled “In Times Past.” As the lyric says, “I thought those days would last forever, but they never really do…” (Click to play)
